Overall it was a nice watch, not much to complain about.
I feel as though the actors are very good so I'm just going to critique the characters/ the plot instead.
Firstly, there was a lack of chemistry between the leads(Sa Hye-Ji and An Jeong ha); after not seeing each other for a while, you should expect some element of bubbliness or joy at being surprised by his visits but Jeong ha didn't even look amused, not even a hug? I get they are trying to give us a realistic drama but that was bland. It left me questioning her character even more. She looked selfish, as it seems she wasn't putting much into the relationship, Sa Hye-Ji was constantly making time for her but she never once even visited his set(which Ji-a did when trying to cozy up to him). When something bad or good happens she doesn't call him but instead calls Hae-Hyo, who I feel she was also taking advantage of even though she had blocked his advances.
She also broke up with him in one of the worst ways possible? He had gifted her handmade present the previous day, you tell him "I love you" wait for him to be all smiley, and follow it up with "let's break up". Why tell him you love him then?. The reason given was also a bit far fetched for me. Maybe the subtitles weren't translated properly but I did not fully understand why they broke up; because he was apologetic and didn't want her to be hurt? I get that he promised not to apologize but things happen, she claimed she understood his predicaments but she completely shut him out. She kept trying to be cheerful when he calls or is around but he never asked for that and after she blamed it on him being around for only short periods of time. "I don't want to be your emotional release any more" That is one of the perks of a relationship, she wasn't interested in sharing his burdens in the first place. It seems after she tried dating her 'idol' and realized it wasn't all fun she wanted out of the relationship.
I don't know, is it just me or Hye-Ji was never truly happy throughout, except when he first started dating her, his career took off but he cries himself to sleep. The only other joy he had came from his work. I did love the whole family dynamic going on, his relationship with his parents and grandfather especially, including the brother.
I would've loved to give this a 5-star rating, Park Bo-Gum is such a great actor(huge fan of his other works too), he practically acted roles in a role. I still liked it though, for its randomness, its slightly different from other dramas, particularly the not so satisfying ending.
