Amazing animation, gotta admit Disney just keeps getting better and better at that. The story is albeit a bit confusing with a vague premise and no real antagonist, the plot is emotional and well written enough.
The biggest issue here is the songs. If you head that THE Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the score of this film, you, like me, would be excited and expect great things. That could not be further from the truth. The songs are borderline nonsensical, and out of rhythm. Not only is there no rhyming structure, but the voices they chose for practically every song are atrocious. In some cases the singer will almost sound up to the quality expected from a Disney soundtrack, but in the same song they will spend the majority of the time missing notes and gravelly sing-shout exposition instead of singing their songs. Most of the songs have little to no flow and actually detract from the movie experience. I would give this movie a 4/5 without the musical aspect. As it is, barely a 2/5. The animation is the most impressive bit, but the songs are such a let down. I am almost ashamed to even give this terrible score to a soundtrack produced by the great Lin-Manuel Miranda, but I feel so disappointed in him that I must let the few people who take this seriously no before they waste their money/time.
