*wayyy too long*
The series doesn't really pick up imo until episode 5, and we are talking almost hour long episodes. That's a lot of build up, and honestly, empty storylines. Of course the first couple episodes lends itself to the original series with its callbacks to the mask, camera, and worms, but it feels forced into the story. The purpose of these events doesn't really make sense until the first "reveal" in about episode 5. I found the flashback storyline FAR more interesting than most of the rest of the main storyline. This series really should've been cut into 20 minute episodes, mini series, or a short movie. The last two episodes were not really needed at all either... I did enjoy the acting, every one did a pretty good job, and you can tell it was a fun experience for the cast which is nice. Justin Long was great in this more serious role. This is an okay series which really does feel like a nostalgia trigger to get views... The writing leaves something to be desired.
