With removing Ariel’s desire and romance for Eric have made the songs not make sense. The art direction is also not well executed and made for a lackluster visual experience. The worst part was the acting though. Perhaps the changes from the original story made the dialog unworkable though. Over all just watch the original.

Disappointing in almost every category. If trying for humor it fails and the heroism is forced and lackluster. The film seems made and performed by those who are embarrassed by the genre now. Sincerity is what made the MCU work, yet now they are made with a horrible falseness that rings in every scene.

Based on a mediocre comic, the film really nails the dull source material.Poorly written and acted with the range of a lumberyard.
It seems to have been made by a funeral director rather than a film director.
