This is what the cinema is for. An absolute awe-inspiring spectacle. The cinematography is breathtaking and I can’t remember the last time a film’s sound was so good. Then there’s the cast - stellar line up but they all deliver, especially Rebecca Ferguson who nails the part of Lady Jessica. The only downside is we have to wait for part two.

I bought the book after reading the excellent The Outsider, which is a stand alone book but follows one of the characters from this Trilogy. Gripping start, but unfortunately it drifts into a run-of-the-mill crime drama that’s pretty by the numbers. With Stephen King I was expecting lots of twists and turns, but these never happened and I felt short-changed. Hopefully the next book Finders Keepers will be an improvement!
