Genuinely spent the entire film trying to work out whether it was a spoof or not. The first scene in the hospital was one of the worst acted and poorly-scripted scenes I have ever seen. Then came this James Bond style opening credits which seemed to go on forever, and then started a film where every single thing that happened was a horror stereotype. The damsel in distress in an unnecessarily large, old, creaky dark house with her neanderthal husband, hears noises which builds up to some sort of weak jump scare.
The film never really got going, it was just repeated scenes with a poor script and terrible acting that genuinely seemed spoof-like, similar to Scary Movie etc. Then came the reveal of the face of the antagonist and it was not scary in the slightest, and in that moment all horror from the film was completely lost.
2 people stood up and walked out during our showing of the film, and whilst I'd never do that if I've paid and travelled to a cinema, this is a film I truly wish I had walked out of.
