Some genres are best appreciated when untouched by wannabes!!! Such as a zombie British army coupled with Indian folklore and mythologies in a naxal background with vested crony capitalist machinations. Too much Machiavellian to digest. Betaal , too , is a half cooked potpourri of these disparate elements , ill conceptualised, ineptly enacted . Neither here nor there. Neither zombie nor vikram betaal. Doest not thrill enough, isn’t believable enough, doesn’t titillate enough, nor even gory enough for wilful suspension of disbelief. Not dwelling on the story enough as there is no story per se, two many narratives are being forced with none reaching finality!!
Acting is sketchy at best, Pretentious tough men’s and their ilk. And somehow the makers are under false impression that poorly lit and barely visible zombies are a symbol of spookiness.
Too many cliches. Too many genres . Too much to digest. Well intentioned at the best, dismal attempt at the least!!!!
P.s. No need for a second season for Gods sake!
