This book evoked emotions I have not felt before. Read it when I was in my 10th grade and the effect it had on me makes me want to read it every time I run of books to read. Every time I lay my eyes in this book, I feel so plentiful. I really do not have words to describe my feeling and emotions A masterpiece in its entirety, I absolutely love this and highly recommend all to read it. Narrated in a simple and indulging manner, it hooks you from the start to finish.

Its been a while since I read this book, but I will try my best to bring back memories. Setting : Turkey - Istanbul Genre : Fiction, partly autobiographical Orhan Pamuk takes us through his beloved city and hometown of Istanbul, with it beautiful architecture, the canal that runs through the city and the various other places of forgotten times. As a person who does not usually enjoy reading non fiction and historical text, this book has this mesmerising quality to it and you just go along as the author recounts his memories . It is definitely worth reading because Pamuk’s style of writing is smooth and articulate in style. (Did not do justice to my very first sentence, sorry)

Relevance in 2021 : Highly relatable to many countries who are exercising a totalitarian rule or a dictatorship. Animal Farm by Orwell, to put it simply, is an political allegory of the Russian Revolution of the 1917 which overthrow the Tsarist rule. Setting : Country side farm called Manor Farm Genre - Fiction, novella Problems addressed : Corruption of Power, Totalitarian rule Animals are the acting pieces of this play. The dominant pigs Snowball and Napoleon stand for the two important figures of the Russian Revolutionary - Leon Trostky and Joseph Stalin The novel has animals that speak human language and interact with humans, something we normally do not see in literature which make it even more interesting. The story revolves around how the the animals take control of their farm after chasing away their owner, the rise to position of power by the intellectual pigs, the class division and exploitation of the other animals but the greedy pigs and the degradation of their seven commandments.

The novel is a must read. The novel follows the family of Joad’s and their desperate journey to California in search for a stable livelihood. The book is a realistic depiction of the economic depression

The play is packed with unique characters. Not a pleasure read, but it gives us an overview of the of the poor working class, the thoughts that come to their minds and their relationships. The actions rises to a crescendo slowly, just like how a hotel kitchen would be like when they get busy in the evening. And the plays ends with looses ends and lots of unanswered questions.
