My favorite game for the NES....or at least the one I was the most excited about before we in the states even knew such a thing even existed. I remember begging my mom to take me to see that movie The Wizard just to see that 5 sec preview of the game at the end where the kid has to play it in his final match.
I begged for it for either Christmas or my birthday I dont remember...I think it cost about $60-50 which in early 90s money was alot so I had to wait a little bit to get it, which sucked. But when I did get it, I played so often I often stayed up 24 hours on the weekend (there was no bed times if we were good on the weekend). I had the Nintendo Power strategy guide which I brought to school and read during recess or lunch.
Worlds 1-5 where my favorites, and I would never warp past them so a Mario Bros. 3 session for me would be to play all of them, even if I already hit the amount of lives I needed (which I already did usu by world 3 or sooner) before I moved on to 6, which wasn't that hard if you were used to 5. ......but 7 & 8....f@#$ those worlds.
I would weasel my way out of 7 usu by warping half way through it ( I think I dont remember that clearly) In 8 I would immediately start bleeding lives and loot. But eventually I did beat it. Was a great part of my childhood. This is a MUST not for just Mario fans but any Nintendo platform fan, or platformer fan in general.
