It was alright, the aliens don't seem to behave consistently. Personally I didn't find too much meaning in the movie, I liked the main character and felt for her, there were some really cool moments and it to me felt earned that she was able to overcome them. That being said, I think the consistency of the behavior of the aliens threw me off, sometimes they moved quickly, other times sluggishly, once in the movie an alien fell off a roof for no apparent reason when it is demonstrated earlier that they can move nimbly in the extreme. And then proceeded to lie in the grass, take it's time there, and then scream and chase after mc. It all just felt very sweaty to me, and smacked of desperately reaching for jump scares when there was no reason for one. Other than that, it was good, when the jump scares felt earned, they were solid, unclear as to why she remained free when everyone else was enslaved or mind controlled. But! Yeah, the themes don't make much sense to me, I think in a perfect world the monster is a reflection of the trauma or issues the MC is dealing with. I don't see it here, I could absolutely just be being a big dummy, but I truly don't.
