While an ok movie, it is a blatant misrepresentation of the actual story found in The Ramayana. The Ramayana is an important cultural work, and while this movie tries to make it more palatable to western audiences, as a student who recently studied The Ramayana, I would argue that it misses the point of the source material altogether. It focuses on a side character, cuts out huge amounts of the plot, and tacks on story beats towards the end from a sequel deemed inauthentic by most. Trust me, there are much better retellings of The Ramayana out there.
