I guess my perspective is more unique than I ever thought it would be. While finding treasure is cool, I find the historical significance to be far more intriguing. While every History channel show where there are more questions than answers can seem tedious, as we have become such an instant gratification society, the road to truth should always capture our attention. For me, life in all forms and truth in all things is what I live for, gaining knowledge and wisdom from knowledge is what we should be all about. Unfortunately, we have lived for so long in a monetary system where things have more value that the truth behind those things, we have lost sight of so much that is beneficial to humanity. I would much prefer people live for knowledge than live for a buck, but this is the evolutionary path that we have chosen, for better or worse. Our historical records, what little there ever was, has been hijacked and corrupted so badly that there is far more fiction than reality being taught to our younger generation. It is up to us to correct that failure, as according to the forever immutable and universal law of cause and effect, we only bring about more pain and suffering by failing to understand the causes for the effects that we bring upon ourselves by ignoring this preeminent law of nature. We have accepted that it was Christopher Columbus who discovered North America in 1492, what if the Templar Knights, or Romans, or Phoenicians were the ones who made land fall as far back as the 12th century? I would like to think people would do more research for themselves rather than just rely on television shows to learn our historical truths in order to correct mistakes or learn why we do what we do.
