I watched Hamtaro when it aired, now I'm 25 and rewatching it and I still love this show to bits. There are some genuinely clever jokes and even moments that have made me tear up from sweetness/sadness, and occasionally it touches on heavier subjects (such as loss and homelessness) in beautiful ways that even kids can understand. While the main draw is the adorable adventures the hamsters go on, the human aspect of the show gives me nostalgia for my own childhood in ways that leave me rooting for the kids in the show to learn and grow.
Only a little over 100 episodes were dubbed, so if you are willing to read subtitles and are a fan of the show, I HIGHLY recommend watching the rest of the episodes plus the movies. Not only are the movies and OVAs a joy to watch and beautifully animated, but the show is just as cute (if not cuter TBH) in its original language. Fans of the old Hamtaro games will probably spot some familiar Ham-Hams along the way since a couple of the games have animated adaptions.
If you're looking for a show to let the kids in your family watch, Hamtaro is a wonderful show that'll teach them about friendship and how to overcome life's little problems. And if you're an adult who just wants some feel-good adorable slice-of-life content? This show is for you as well.
