Leonardo. Da Vinci. Leonardo. Donatello. Splinter.
These are just some names that may conjure in your mind when the word “art” floats through the air. I have been a professor of the arts, historical and abstract- including finger painting- at my personal practice for over two decades, and NEVER, in my 25 years of teaching have I ever…..felt a film connect with me in a way this has.
Adam Driver. He seemed to find himself in the backseat of this magnificent feature-film, giving an A+ line story line, plot structure, and music theory, which mixed with the rich ancestral history of dino’s, left me absolutely speechless. However, the real reason this film resonated with me so deeply, is for a much larger, conceptual, and frankly “silly” reason.
I had never thought of dinosaurs in more of a light as the small, frozen nuggets located in aisle 15 of my local walmart (where you will find me quite frequently), but THIS has changed completely.
This film has opened up my entire heart, mind, eyes, touch, hearing, and every other sense I have to these mythical, enchanting prehistoric creatures. If it were not for this film, I may have gone a lifetime without knowing what those little rascals were like, and I thank God that I was able to witness it in a plush, velvet seat with the accompanying diet Dr. Pepper.
