I really didn’t like this movie.
Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke might has well have been reading their lines from a teleprompter. They were wooden, and I felt no empathy for them at all.
The actors who played the children gave me something to care about. Mahershala Ali was excellent and understated - he was the key to what was happening and he played his character so well. Ms. Herrold, who played his daughter, was also excellent.
The story started out really interesting but as events piled up and the focus was more and more on the parents, it became boring.
And the ending was - in a word - unsatisfying.
