Mitsuki Warashi

I am thrilled that one of my favorite stories is now a series and that they tease with mention of the Mayfair Witches in the first few minutes. As a stand-alone storyline it is engaging and charged with some historical accuracy that other historical series lack. What first grabbed me was the resemblance of Daniel to Anthony Bourdain, making it a charming re-imagining. This all being said, stories we record in our minds after reading are never quite as good on film, just like this one it misses the mark. I was hoping for redemption from the original movie and the Queen of the Damned movie but no such luck. On itself it is entertaining however and this is the best portrayal of Lestat I have seen.
