Remember the song "Evil Grows Where the Sun Never Shines"? That applies to these factory hog operations. Sows are confined to metal stalls so narrow they cannot turn around in. These animals never get chance to root and lie in earth or feel the warmth of the sun on their bodies, which isa big part of their natural behavior. They become crippled from spending too much time in gestation stalls, Some of the handlers have little patience as the crippled sows try to gain their footing. I have seen footage of the abuse these poor sows suffer. All that is natural and healthy for them is absent in their short miserable lives. Sows live in desperation, suffer pain and depression. Do you think you are eating healthy pork from pigs have never experienced a decent life? There is more to this nightmare story that the public needs to see with their own eyes and be made aware of. This Bill should never be passed. We lose, the animals lose. Our ability to press for much needed change will be muted. They will always say: "Where's the evidence of abuse?"
