Very disappointing. Supposed to be the back story of how Wonka came to be. The Wonka of the legend Gene Wilder. They had such scope to work with. Could have sold us the most amazing fantastic story as to how he evolved to be the mad eccentric chocolate maker. Instead we get terrible bland PC rubbish. The only parts that could extract a laugh were where Hugh Grant came along. Waiting in the cinema for his appearance to save the movie..... And alas as funny as he is, he couldn't polish this turd.. The studio were given the makings of a ferrari to work with and they created a nissan micra....
