I highly recommend this show. I’m almost 30 years old and this series always puts a smile on my face.
I grew up watching the 90s movies with my cousin. I do remember briefly following the 2003 series but what really got me hooked onto the turtles was the 2012 series. Loved the 2007 movie, wasn’t a huge fan of the 2014 Turtle movie but absolutely loved Out of the Shadows.
This show is honestly such a nice breath of fresh air. I really wasn’t going to give this one a try and wasn’t really feeling it at first but the more I watched, the more I began to enjoy it. It’s so disappointing how much negativity this show receives and I understand that people will either love it or hate it but in all honesty, it’s on NICKTOONS. Of COURSE they’re mostly trying to entertain the younger crowd and, if you know kids, most don’t get invested with plot. People complaining really need to rethink things a bit. If you’re asking for the same exact formula every single time and in the same format you’re going to be disappointed. It would be incredibly boring if everything was done the same way with every series/movie/video game that comes out for this franchise. And not every single TMNT series is going to be adult-audience-aimed. You would think people would be happy they’re reaching younger audiences so, I don’t know, your children/grandchildren/etc can grow up loving a franchise you grew up with. Share some interests? Start them out here and branch out into the other series that we grew up with? Or, maybe, just not watch it and stop ruining it for the others that do like it.
I LOVE that this show is different. It keeps the whole Turtle universe fresh and entertaining.
The brothers actually act like teenagers and their relationships with each other are such a nice change. I honestly really like that the situations aren’t serious. Life is serious enough and some people unwind with lighthearted comedy like this show but it also gives us something we’re familiar with.
Props to the art department, voice actors, and just the whole team in general. You can just tell how much love and effort they put into this series. I really hope they aren’t discouraged with the negativity from the so-called “true” TMNT fans that have it drilled into their heads that the only way for any new TMNT tv show to be good is that it’s exactly like the previous incarnations.
