This book was an emotional rollercoaster, I felt the love and the anguish. The way Robbie Arnott writes makes you feel the light and shade of the landscape, he fills your senses through the magic of his words. I laughed and I cried.
This story helps you experience something of the bush and the country life of rural Tasmania, through the eyes of a mainly young boy growing up toward the end of WW2.
Definitely my favorite of the three Robbie Arnott books I have read to date.
