The movie is a wonderful love letter to Transformer Media with tons of references to IDW, Aligned and other continuities within the franchise. Some of the reviews seem to think this move has some relation to the live action films. It does not. Transformers One is a stand alone film within its own continuity that tells the story of Megatron and Optimus drifting apart naturally over the course of the film due to differences in their ideology. It is a mature movie that handles the themes well and good. While childish at times, it is a move that does not treat its audience like morons like most animated films now do.
