Combat! is very well written and acted. My favorite character is Chip Saunders. As smart as he is he should be a general. He has a soft side as evidenced in "The Little Carousel" and the Furlough. He can also be a tough a__ as in the episodes of the Walking Wounded and Conflict. He can make cowards into heroes and soldiers who are too eager into disciplined men. I wonder where he gets his wisdom as only a 25 year-old shoe salesman from Cleveland, Ohio, He gets wounded often and always recovers. His squad gets mad at him but he treats them as his family. I see television nowadays and the dramas are too much into violence for everyday life. The situation comedies are filthy and sophomoric. I have watched all the episodes on you tube and revisit the really good ones more than once. It is a great show.
