Toorpu Padamara, a 1976 romantic drama, is a remake of the Tamil film Apoorva Raagangal written and directed by K. Balachander. The movie revolves around the unconventional relationships that evolve between the main characters. Suryam, an angry young man, falls in love with a classical singer Shivaranjani, who is much older than him. On the other hand, Shivaranjani's daughter fancies Suryam's father, who initially treats her like a daughter. The characters showcase human emotions and symbolise love that knows no boundaries.
