While this epiphany is not quite the same as mine, her heart wrench is akin to mine. I discovered at age 78 yrs. that my bio-dad was not "my dad". Seems the whole town knew - and that the man I thought was my dad and I were the only two in town who didn't know. This has been a huge emotional journey and the isolation of covid gave me a quiet time to sort it all out. Thank you Ancestry DNA - I am 89% Scandinavian and not all German as I had been told. I knew my bio-dad - loved him and always felt a kinship to him. Interesting..... Always felt at home anywhere in the Scandinavian countries and never did in Germany.
