A movie that was not only disappointing but unforgettable, in the worst way possible. To say this left a bad taste in my mouth is an understatement. If you like bad horror movies, I still don’t recommend this movie as this will leave you feeling upset with yourself for wasting an hour and thirty of your life. The only redeeming factor from this film would be the cinematography, which was rather exciting and refreshing. If it wasn’t for that, I doubt I would finish the movie. The plot is so bad it’s is hilarious, it’s almost as if they took a nice mix of generic horror film plots and said, “let’s make this mashup of trash,” well what do you get when mixing up trash with trash, a metric ton of trash.
*Spoilers*
I would also like to bring up a possible inspiration for the film, which could be Stanley Kubrick “The Shining” as the house is alive, literally, and is also filled with spirits of which seem to be alive. The messages are similar too; the house plays to peoples flaws and inability to change, very similar to The Shining. Especially with the “father” figure. It plays into this a lot through the film and left me disappointed as it continued to make less sense as the movie went on. (Like why didn’t the wife come visit the husband. Oh wait she only decides to visit him at the end of the film) this movie ruins everything great about “The Shining” and adds some nice teleporting women, heavy metal, awful acting, and living walls to the equation and calls it a day.
