Nolan missed an opportunity to make a serious statement with this film. He also missed the much more interesting aspects of the Manhattan project and all the amazing work the scientists did. The part of Colonel Groves, an abrasive workaholic by all accounts is denied proper explanation. He was the real driving force in the development of americas nuclear deterrent and yet his part is played as if he was an avuncular uncle. Overall, an overlong and rather dull version of a fascinating piece of history
