Seeing this film I was thrown off the ground so to speak. The film has presented the two Popes Benedict and Francis, in body and flesh before us and thanks to the splendid script writing and direction, the film has acquired a depth with true visual flair almost absent in any recent films. Hopkins's portrayal as Pope Benedict and Pryce as later Pope Francis are spellbinding and would rank among the finest examples of solid acting in modern films. My deep respect to them and all others who played significant parts in making this memorable visual creation. No one should miss watching The two Popes.

Watched this movie today as I was growing tired of too many lengthy TV series seen almost without a break. This film is so watchable thanks to a tight plot, limited number of characters and no overdose of gruesome cruelty and over dramatic situations. The plot was built up with a good pace without leaving any gaps and introduction of all the characters took place in an orderly manner. Never during watching my interest flagged off. Highly watchable because of its strong script and realistic acting, the film is likely to retain a long lasting impression in the discerning viewers' minds.
