I love it.
Finally the Indian adaptation of the Office. The Famous British series, by the same name, created by Ricky Gervais and Steven Merchant, was a success and adapted all over the world. But the plot of Indian version is picked from the US version.
A quirky show at first but, as you progress, it becomes lovable.
Mukul Chadda is playing Jagdeep Chadha, the Indian Micheal Scott is a self proclaimed funjabi, who loves to crack distasteful jokes, severally lacks empathy and political correctness but is innocent at heart. He has played the character well and is a joy to watch, once you get used to cringing.
Gopal Dutt plays TP Mishra, the Indian Dwight Schrute is an over the top Hindu hardliner, whose favourite pastime is moral policing, reporting couples to anti romeo squad and kushti(wrestling) and chill. Gopal Dutt is a gem, he brilliantly captures eccentricity of Dwight Schrute in his own way.
Sayan Deep Sengupta and Samridhi Dewan are the Indian Jim and Pam or Amit and Pammi. Both are very likeable and do a nice job.
Gauhar Khan's reoccurring cameo is also a big plus. All supporting characters are very well played and adapted.
Production and set design is very similar to the orignal and yet stands on its own feet.
The show has been severely under appreciated. I think they are right to support this property. It is very lucky to have a production like this, it is fun to watch. I hope this gets renewed.
For a Office fan it feels new yet nostalgic.
