Not the best casting for Harvey when compared to the brilliant portayal of Harvey in recent Batman movies. Some scenes are unrealistic at times and not well thought through, seemingly unintelligently. Such as a poisonous gas attached to an a/c system so porent by a mere wiff it changes the body into superhuman. But when connecting it to a/c system ppl can avoid it by covering face with jacket. Then the cannister is shot at to release thousand times the amount inhaled to mutate one person.and the person shooting it standing in the same room is completely unaffected. Whereas a small vile broken and inhaled affected a person in previous scenes. Not quite Christian Bale level acting, but intersting to see the back stories. Def not as highly rated as some seem to believe. The DC approach to filtering some concepts and weak characters and lack of attention to detail affects the overall feel. Even the similar generic posing of two diff characters holding a gun in the poster of the show gives a plastic feel. Furthermore, numerous characters refers to younger / junior roles (in their late twenties and early thirties as "kid", which is silly as the other person is only a.few years older. The script and the casting aren't in line. Overall worth the watch for the sake of back story for batman fans.

Artist feel, directed by artist, not directed well. Bad directing, writing and editing are probably to blame for the final product feel. Nicholas Cage has a few unplaced quirks which could've worked much better if they didn't abrubtely cut the scene and stitch it together at the wrong places. The actors deserve better. The acting was also questionable at times when detail was concerned. The wobble on a drill bit that secure. Masonry drill going through a safe. Perfect bit being worn, story not making sense. I almost wondered why they went to the trouble of making it with this end product. The caprured girls acting was also not believable. The catchy tune at the start and ending might help create feeling illusion, but it's like fresh warm custard on old stale dry cheap cake. Without the main actors the film would not be worth the watch. They are the selling point.

Some of the fighting scenes are unrealistic. A combination of fight choreography, directing and camera fails perhaps. Punches that clearly misses where little effort was put in to make it seem real. Especially when the women in the movie punches. They sell it with sound effects, but at this level I expected more. Flame thrower flames projecting the victims into the air and backwards as if they are swinging by cables. Way too much for a simple flame to do. Yes, you don't have to actually hit a character to make it seem real, but put a little more effort in at least. Not just a fist loosely moving in the same direction and speed as the person being hit. That put me off as it is an action movie. Clear agenda to have 3 tattooed people in one scene is pushing a tattoo agenda and the two main characters one of which is clearly a soldier of the darkness according to his other roles both take Gods name in vain in the same scene using comedic timing to deliver this clear built in defamation. Believe what you will, but I got the impression of puppets for hire and the darkness leads the show. Overall it was ok, but with all the politics between the FF franchise original actors and this spin off I wouldn't say it was worth making. Regardless of the big profits they made.

The important role of a father in his daughters life is made clear in this portrayal as Sarah Silverman delivers the story through her believable performance. A story to relate to by those who struggle with addiction and to help shed light on the impact it has on a family. Most importantly it shows how crucial the role of a father-daughter relationship is and how it can affect a girl throughout her life. Daddy issues is much more than just another cliche. Well worth a watch, based on a book. You get the sense that it comes from personal experience somewhere.
