I never usually review films but I read the book and feel that it’s a must read for everyone. My whole perspective has been changed after reading, simply incredible. The film gave the overall message as well, although it did disappoint me that DeVante wasn’t in the film because I feel that he is such an essential part of the story. As well as, I thought it was important for Chris to be at the protest with Starr like in the book, experiencing first hand the treatment of black people. It would have helped the audience to understand why their relationship and understanding of each other has changed at the end.
