I love Greek Mythology and frequently find myself searching for interesting retellings. To date, this is the second worst one I have read (the worst being my attempt at reading Lore Olympus. Key word there being "attempt"). It bears little to no resemblance to either Ovid nor Pseudo-Apollodorus' descriptions of the myths. The names are the most accurate part of the novel, it might as well be a completely different story. It is frankly embarrassing that people consider this to be a retelling. In Heywood's determination to make Perseus the villain, she chooses to remove any errors made by all but one or two other characters (such as Akrisios/Acrisius). A truly disappointing read. I'm grateful I only checked it out from the library instead of buying it myself.
