Honestly it's the teenagers hitting puberty year. In the movie, they're 15, but Honestly are 11 or 12 years old, and the story is wack. Does not go off by the original comic book, where splinter is from the hamato clan. Instead you have, Splinter is a 1980s dad that learned from exercising karate videos. And parts of they're designs don't match, example, how does Mikey has braces. Why?
The villian story part is not bad, but not the greatest either.
It just doesn't feel like TNMT, and I've been a fan since the 80s, and I was hoping this be good. But I was really disappointed. Then the end they go to high school at the end. It's a okay story, but not TNMT.
The animation was great though, fight scenes weren't bad , the voices for the turtles weren't bad, but definitely pre teen vibes.
If you want TNMT, modern cartoon that has a great story. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the movie on Netflix, and series. Soooooooo much better, and it flows so much better.
