It’s really a picture of our society & consciousness when a movie like this earns so much. Even barring the misogynistic controversies the story itself teeters on the edge of disbelief. The violence seems just for the sake of violence and the even the backbone of the movie which is the father son relationship between Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor is not fleshed out properly. I never felt or related to any of the pain or angst or emotions felt by Ranbir towards his abusive and distant father not was it ever made clear why Anil’s character was the way he was towards his son. It seems Vanga is infatuated with toxic masculinity and to him being macho is the only way how men should be . It appears Vanga is more suited for the time Ranbir described in one of his interactions with Rashmika about Alpha men and not in a civilized 21st century society. To impressionable young men if this what ideal men are then we have a great future ahead
