I’m sorry to say that I am not a big fan of this book. Going back-and-forth between the many characters of the story and minute detail of the fig tree wasn’t my favorite – combine that with also going back-and-forth in time, from the 1970s to the 2010s. It made it hard to really connect with anybody. The narration by the fig tree was hard to hear and understand, and I felt the quality of the recording was muffled- so it was not the experience other people are describing with the book. For those reasons, and for the tediousness of some of the writing, and the lack of editing it needed, I am sorry to say that I would not personally recommend this book.
