Your view of magic is wrong magic is what ever the author wants it to be, in Eminence in shadow's case magic can be artifacts elemental or misc. Your view of magic does not describe what any magic is if your saying magic is only spell circles and buff you are wrong. you cannot even imagine what else magic can do
