Valkyrie Fury

If you go into this excited to read more of the fun, intriguing, and and sexy style that was captured in the Cruel Prince / Folk of the Air series - you will be sorely mistaken. Which is fine, I'm always up for a new series, but this was just plain BORING. I had to force myself to get through this book just to finish it. In the first few chapters, you have so many new terms/labels for magical people (or dead? not sure...) that it's just confusing at times and you have no idea what the author is talking about. Blights? Gloom? Gloamists? I mean, I'm all for new creatures and introductions, but please explain what they are and don't assume your readers know what you are talking about. Most of it just kind of dragged and I was happy when it was done. I'll just stick with the Folk of the Air series and probably won't read the next book in this series, if there is one.
