The only “benefit of the doubt” I can give this is that the 60 minutes that was “left on the cutting room floor” included a few minutes explaining even a little bit about their deductions as to the electronic patterns, why they shouldn’t look at it, etc. I don’t like it when a famous writer/director gets to slide on one of his misses. Sorry Peele, this is a miss. A real stinker. The smartest thing he did was omit any sex and profane language so pre-teens can watch this because they don’t have to understand plots, (or lack thereof), to be scared but will they get scared? Really? Even a little? Doubt it.
