I've been playing about Valorant for quite a while now, and to be truly honest, well, there are so many things that I'm just really disappointed in. The concept's good, the graphics and everything, but there are some really big things that have a tendency to really screw up the overall experience.
First of all, the matchmaking is super flawed. All too often, I get placed in matches in which I'm well above or below other skill curves playing, making it imbalanced and frustrating to play. This gets compounded by the smurf accounts that really rip apart competitive integrity.
The second point: the in-game performance is very spotty. I have a high-end gaming rig, and there are loads of frame drops and lag spikes—really affecting my ability to play effectively. It is pretty infuriating to completely lose a match over issues that should have been ironed out by the devs themselves.
Another major concern is the toxic community: in-game chat is always negative and harassing; their reporting system does not seem to do much about that. It's just very disheartening that the player conduct is not being taken seriously, making the whole environment really hostile for gaming.
The balancing of the agents themselves leaves much to be desired. Some are powerful, and some are next to useless, making strategies and gameplays very unvaried. This imbalance makes certain matches feel repetitive and uninteresting.
Lastly, monetization feels greedy. Skin prices are extremely high, and there are not nearly enough ways to earn them through play. This feels like it's more about making money than giving users a fair deal and the best possible gaming experience.
Altogether, there was much potential in the game of Valorant, but these unresolved problems have made it frustrating and unenjoyable. But I hope that Riot Games takes note of these issues and sorts them out soon. Until then, I will not be able to recommend this game.
