In my opinion, this series should never have seen the light of day due to its high level of harmfulness. This Netflix production unnecessarily creates a romantic hero out of the hideous figure of a serial killer. Moreover, the series traumatized the still-living families and friends of Jeffrey Dahmer's 17 victims. “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” also contributed to the development of pathological behavior among part of its audience, such as unhealthy interest in serial killers (e.g. treating them as idols and thus being desensitized to the crimes they committed). Internet comments posted after the premiere of this production proved that, contrary to Ryan Murphy's intentions, it did not increase society's awareness of the problem of systemic racism. Ironically, it "renewed" the fame of this serial killer. Another absurdity is the fact that this series won many awards, which, due to its subject matter, was a purely immoral move. In short, I believe that this type of productions should not be created because there are no positives from watching them. Everything had already been said about Dahmer's crimes long before the premiere of this series. This only confirms that the pain after its release did not "pay off" at all, because it did not even provide the public with any new information.
