The best film that I’ve seen in the past 10 years. Rosamund Pike played the role of Marie Colvin superbly. The documentary style of the film really brought home the horror of what Colvin witnessed as a war corespondent in some of the worlds most recent conflicts, showing the brutality meted out to the innocents in these murderous events. It wasn’t surprising that it took a terrible on both her physical and mental health, while she bravely reported back on the atrocities she seen first hand. I can’t praise this film highly enough.

Richard Curtis is not renowned for his documentary/kitchen sink realism. The whole idea is an excuse to play Beatles songs. On that basis I enjoyed the film for what it is a Richard Curtis story filmed by Danny Boyle. If you like Beatles songs you will enjoy it. I did.
