This project and its backstory is God-led. It portrays the spirit of the gospels and its precious message that Jesus came to earth, not to overthrow the Romans or to cater to one group of people or to be treated like the King He is—but to offer His life as a ransom for many. Jesus came to die on our behalf. His life-story of love, self-sacrifice, mercy, grace, and truth is a testament to His divinity and a revelation of who God is and what His plan for humanity entails—that He wants us to KNOW Him, to love and be loved, to be reunited with our Creator forever without shame or guilt separating us from Him. He wants to give us all things and to set right what is broken and corrupted. It’s no fairytale. This is the good news of the Kingdom that Jesus is bringing. Now is the time for people to decide—who is Jesus and will I receive Him into my life and trust Him?

The fact that people don’t like this movie has nothing to do with a black casting. It has to do with affirmative action hires. Casting everyone as black just to fill a quota is ridiculous, whether it’s commercials or movies. The Little Mermaid’s description by Hans Christian Anderson should have been taken into account—authenticity matters. People would care if Rosa Parks was played by a white actress, just like they do care if Jesus is played by a white actor. Casting needs to be about the story, not about “diversity,” which has been shoved down everyone’s throats in the worst way. Want to make people of different cultures loathe each other? Keep doing this.
