It's a must see, I'll give you that. I think Radio Silence is holding up to Wes Craven pretty well in the franchise with this release .. and I'll say that Scream VI is miles above their last one! If Scream V felt weak to you then I think you'll be satisfied after you see this. They didn't rely on trying to remake some of the classic scenes that we think of when watching Scream this time. They actually dove back into the story and plot more which felt good to see, it came off less cheesy but still had the Scream feeling, without saying too much and it just went back to the roots of what a Scream movie is/was. Moving forward I think it'll (still) be a solid franchise now that the bumps in the road are kind of out of the way.
There have been other slasher franchises that have eventually gone to NYC so I knew it made sense for this franchise to go there too, even though Scream 2 wasn't set in Woodsboro, I was a little nervous with this one moving so far away and being in New York because I wondered if it might feel like a setting grab but I think they pulled it off and it made sense for the movie.
I'm 100% buying it for my collection once it's released
