Were there no Irish actresses available? Kathy Bates as an Irish woman is your first clue to this predictable & trite melodrama. Even Maggie Smith couldn't save it.

Although the Italian landscape & cinematography is delicious, the actors are too old for their part & are utterly without charm. It doesn't hold a candle to the movie.

Humourless doesn't begin to describe the female lead. Watched two episodes & that's more than enough.

If you want to watch a group of self-absorbed grown men wallow in a pool of self-pity, dysfunctional relationships & inability to work or grow, then this show is for you. The rare comedic moment is the only bright spot.

Although I’m a fan of historical fiction & thought the premise of the book was good, the writing was very disappointing. The characters strain credibility & in the mother’s case was downright unbelievable. The motivations & emotions were terribly cliched.

Have seen four episodes & love it! Great music, scenery, plot line. Suspenseful with just the right amount of creepy weirdness. Best series I’ve seen in a long time.
