I remember viewing this movie in 958 with my three brothers and several of our neighborhood Chinese friends as we crowded around our home television. Our ages ranged from eight to twelve. After watching this movie with youthful enthusiasm, we formed our own club called the "Little Devils" this became our moniker growing up on Seattle's Beacon Hill. The movie sparked patriotism and the fact that little Chinese kids were fighting the Japanese. Of course, this bias did not negate our friendship with our Japanese school friend. The movie is much like watch the original Three Musketeers with Gene Kelley and June Allison. These movies sparked our imagination and youthful vigor that we could all be "heroes".
