Absolutely shocking that this was accepted and published. Such poor writing, terrible dialogue, poorly written characters. It was ok for Maisy as a 15/16 year old to be nearly kissed by the lawyer in his 40s. The author didn’t mention anything about this being wrong. I knew that Marist would find evidence in his car when her bag split open - dreadful build up. When she finally found her twin who was abused there was no shock factor, no emotion in the writing. Sexual abuse was just brushed away and badly written. I picked this book in a train and can’t believe this was written by an adult. This is how NOT to write a book. Dont even get me started about the typecasting of the characters and England (Holland Park mansion, grumpy misunderstood granny, crazy lady in the woods). Utter nonsense and rubbish.
