Unlike the original, this movie lacks heart. It is a much darker, meaner version. I had several small children around me who lost interest about twenty minutes into the film. This is not a child friendly film. While the original celebrated the circle of life, this one seems to celebrate power and might. The animation is very good, they appeared to struggle with what water does to fur, but otherwise it almost looked real. I would suggest re-watching the original and let this one pass. If you are a big fan of the original, this will disappoint you.
