Go into this with no expectations. Sometimes I feel people's imaginations get out of hand and proffer little more than their own spaztastiscal version of how they would produce something if THEY were in charge instead of providing something remotely resembling a proper critique. I'm not going to offer y'all either! I loved this adaptation. I loved the anime. The original was meant to be a romp. It was. This was meant to be a romp. It IS! Netflix should have had a win with this one. Very sad to see the purists derail this wonderful production to cancellation.

This film, AND the band, have been propped up over the years mainly by people with little to no real aesthetic appreciation whatsoever. I remember the hype when both came out. I found their music just as tepid and uninspiring as I do now. I have little against these musicians. I mean most popular music over the last 40 years is highly derivative and unimaginative. What gets me is the consistency of the overblown hype regarding the film itself. Masterpiece? WUT? How is so much money spent on producing entertainment these days when so many monkeys are so easily entertained by banality? Makes me think the money would be better invested elsewhere.

When one breaks it down, this movie and the whole trilogy it punctuates represents some of the all-time best storytelling, regardless of medium. Forget the amazing VFX that went into this production - it is all so seamlessly integrated into the story and equally amazing performances that it becomes immediately and completely compelling and immersive. I rail on Hollywood all the time, but this is truly one of the best endeavors to come out of there, ever. Bravo!

This movie fell flat for me. I love both Teen Titans and TTG, but quite unlike the previous year's endeavor, Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, none of it was particularly engaging. Perhaps it was the direction, or simply the fact the the actors had to each portray two different versions of their respective characters, but the actors just did not seem as committed to either version as they had when performing these roles in each TV series. The humor was okay at best. The plot, even with its "twist" of an ending, was mostly predictable. A shame, as the years-long controversy over which is the "better" version of Teen Titans left plenty of room for humorous exploration and hi-jinks. Instead, the controversy was used as a lame excuse to push fourth wall jokes as opposed to introducing some clever nods to the viewing audience. Overall, not a bad movie. I usually do not pan "not a bad" movies, but this one just didn't provide enough for a "like".

Awesome story! Writing, acting, animation - all on spot. I think I prefer the comic book ending, but the film did a nice job of distilling the important stuff from it. Timely message too - it's about people, not governments.
