"Amar Singh Chamkila" What an awesome movie I will say I want to start by saying big thanks to the Director Mr @Imtiaz Ali for his beautiful direction. Considering Imtiaz's non-Punjabi background, he showcased an objective and humanistic view of a person. Imtiaz evocatively presented how Chamkila's songs reflected the subliminal and tabooed emotions of common people which nobody wanted to acknowledge but secretly experienced in their life. However, the orthodox religious and social forces only punished Chamkila without actually educating the common people on how to rise above their subliminal desires. Imtiaz beautifully showed how Chamkilla was the product of the forces of society and used his exceptional talent to give voice to their secret sensual desires. Shown how Orthodox society confused Chamkila which face of the society is correct and ethical and this made him rebellious and fearless in his approach towards his profession. Actor and Singer Diljit Dosanjh and actor and singer Parneeti Chopra showed brilliant performance and music director "The AR Rahman" did awesome work.
