This book sails way beyond Fan-Fiction! For any Jaws fan, I cannot recommend this book enough-it gives more backstory to the events of the first movie than you could ever imagine, yet also stands on it's own as a very cleverly written nautical tale. The maps and illustrations really add to the immersion as well. I really enjoyed my time with it and look forward to reading it again down the road.
