The whole premiss of the movie (the villain wanting to end the world so he can stop reincarnating and making a weapon which kills every living thing when activated) makes no absolute sense when that same villain has created a weapon that removes the soul from one single individual with a bullet. He has the solution to his problem without having to exterminate the world. The movie could end in 5 minutes if he just shot himself.
